Attractions include the local market towns of Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Modbury where you will find a variety of interesting shops, markets and art galleries to browse. A visit to South Devon’s landmarks are also recommended, with Dartmoor National Park, Burgh Island, Torcross and Start Point, Devon’s most southerly point all close by.
In addition there are some fantastic National Trust and English Heritage properties and gardens nearby including, Agatha Christie’s House and haunted castles!
For lovers of fresh food and Al Fresco dining, South Devon has some great places to enjoy from a Chili Farm to local smokehouses to fruit liqueurs to locally caught crab, fish and chips, delicious Devon clotted cream teas, local wine, fruit juice and cider producers.
South Devon is also home to a number of popular colourful annual events including regattas, music and food festivals. Whenever you can we encourage you to leave your car behind and explore South Devon on foot or by bus, ferry, boat, steam train or spoil yourselves and take a private tour.
