South Sands

Home > Location > South Sands

South Sands is the name given to the unspoilt sandy cove situated directly in front of the Tides Reach Hotel. Nestled just inside the mouth of the Salcombe estuary South Sands beach is one of the most unspoilt beaches in South Devon.

A major feature of a stay at Tides Reach Hotel is the opportunity to enjoy a range of activities within the hotel itself or within walking distance - without the use of a car. On the doorstep you can enjoy sandy coves, spectacular coastal walking, safe sea swimming and water sports.

South Sands Passenger Ferry

South Sands is home to the famous and colourful foot passenger ferry that has operated for many years as a shuttle service from South Sands to Whitestrand Quay in Salcombe. So relax and leave your car behind. There is truly no better way to enjoy the Salcombe Estuary than from the water.
