Fascinating
country rambles and spectacular coastal paths
The area is renowned for its walks and close around
the Hotel there are many miles of fascinating country rambles and spectacular
coastal paths.
Whatever your ambition, level of fitness or time available,
there are innumerable walks and scenic spots in the South Sands and Bolt
Head Peninsula, with idyllic estuary or seascape views. The National Trust's
'Walks around the Salcombe Estuary' and many other guides are freely available
in the hotel.
For more serious walking, perhaps with an extended
family or friends, we might arrange a guided walk conducted by Eric Wallis,
from the South West Way Association, who is an established guide and storyteller
on the region's coastal walks, paths or other coastal foothpath guides.
Within only a few miles, you can also play golf (two
18-hole courses), tennis (all-weather courts), or bowls and go horse riding,
sea-fishing, fly-fishing, scuba-diving, surfing or hot-air ballooning.
After such activities aching limbs can always be eased
by a dip in the pool and appetites assuaged with a decadent Devonshire
Cream Tea.
